Senior citizens aged between 60 and 80 have from November 1 to November 30, 2023 to submit their life certificates.
IDBI Bank Special FDs
IDBI Bank has extended the validity date for its special fixed deposit schemes, called Amrit Mahotsav FDs, for 375 days and 444 days tenure. The bank has extended the deadline to invest in these special FDs to November 30, 2023, from the previous deadline of October 31, 2023.
The Amrit Mahotsav FDs offer higher interest rates compared to regular FDs. For the 444-day scheme, regular, NRE, and NRO customers can avail an interest rate of 7.15%, while senior citizens can earn 7.65%. Premature withdrawal and closure are allowed for both schemes. For the 375-day scheme, senior citizens can earn an interest rate of 7.65%, while regular, NRE, and NRO customers can earn 7.10%. Premature withdrawal and closure are also allowed for this scheme.
Punjab and Sindh Bank Fixed Deposit Schemes
Punjab and Sindh Bank has introduced new fixed deposit schemes, namely PSB Dhan Lakshmi and PSB Saving Plus, which are valid only until November 30, 2023. The PSB Saving Plus scheme offers an interest rate of 6.50% per annum for a tenure of 333 days, with a minimum deposit requirement of Rs 500. Senior citizens and super senior citizens can earn higher interest rates of 7% and 7.15% respectively for the same tenure.
The PSB Dhan Lakshmi scheme offers an interest rate of 7.40% per annum for a tenure of 444 days. Senior citizens and super senior citizens can earn higher interest rates of 7.90% and 8.05% respectively for the same tenure.
HDFC Bank Senior Citizens Care FD
Under the Senior Citizens Care FD scheme offered by HDFC Bank, senior citizen investors are eligible for an additional 0.25% interest rate. This premium is in addition to the existing 0.50% premium paid to senior investors on FD accounts. As per the HDFC Bank website, senior citizens who book a fixed deposit of less than 5 crores for a tenure of 5 years One Day to 10 Years during the special deposit offer commencing from May 18, 2020, until November 7, 2023, will receive an additional premium of 0.25%.
