Himanshi Khurana had recently announced that she broke up with her long-time boyfriend Asim Riaz. She shared that they chose to part ways due to their respective religious beliefs. However, this created a rift between the netizens as they called her out for pointing out religious differences.
Himanshi now took to her Twitter handle to share a clarification, she shared that she added the religious reason only after having a word with Asim.She shared a screenshot of theconversation and clarified the reason behind her note.
Himashi wrote, “This is my last & final statement to clarify that I’m a secular person so I am not disrespecting any religion… I just chose mine, if I don’t want anyone of you to blame him for the breakup then I also want no one of you to blabber against me…. From my past relationship, I was quiet for the reason I took the whole blame here. I tried the same but I’m sorry people took it the other way.”

Netizens reacted to Himanshi’s clarification post, a user wrote, ” In this world how many break ups will happen based on religion, caste and language! Hope at least upcoming generations will not take these as primary issues, everyone is equally the same human beings and has the same emotions irrespective of their identity.”

Himanshi had earlier shared the note on her breakup, where she mentioned, “Yes, me and Asim are not together anymore. All the time we have spent together has been great but our togetherness comes to an end Now. The journey of our relationship was great and we are moving forward in our lives. With due respect to our respective religions, we are sacrificing our love for our different religious beliefs. We have nothing against each other. We request you to respect our privacy.”
