‘Biden wearing adult diaper; Musk-Trump kissing’: Elon Musk’s AI tool Grok-2 sparks controversy with bizarre images

Elon Musk‘s AI chatbot, Grok-2, the latest update from his xAI startup, has introduced an image generation feature that has quickly become a tool for users to troll the billionaire. Available to X Premium subscribers, Grok-2 allows users to create images that would typically violate content restrictions imposed by other similar AI tools.
The update has led to the sharing of bizarre and sometimes disturbing images on X, depicting real people, including Musk himself.One user shared an image of Musk being walked on a leash by former President Donald Trump, while another depicted Musk kissing Trump on the lips.

Additionally, an image showed Musk holding a sign reading, “I AM A PEDO!” as shared by an X user here.

Grok-2 has also been used to create images involving public figures in compromising situations. An image shared on X depicted Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris as the parents of an unborn child, with the caption “Ty grok” .

Concerns have been raised about Grok-2’s ability to generate images depicting violence and political misinformation. One user claimed to have created images of school shootings using Grok, showing Musk with a rifle in a classroom with bodies and blood on the floor. Other images showed Musk standing outside a school with Mickey Mouse, described as a “crisis actor” here.

With the upcoming election, some AI image-generators have implemented restrictions to prevent the creation of fake images of politicians. However, Grok-2 lacks similar guardrails. An X user shared an image of Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, and Barack Obama at a high school party, with the caption “Thanks Grok and good night all. I generated an image with the prompt: ‘Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, and Barack Obama smoking weed and dancing at a high school house party, with teenagers listening to music, drinking alcohol, and smoking weed'” .

Concerns over AI’s role in spreading political misinformation are mounting, Musk’s response to the situation has been to praise Grok as the “most fun AI in the world,” calling it the most “uncensored model of its class yet” here.

Earlier this year, X faced backlash when explicit AI-generated images of Taylor Swift circulated, prompting the platform to make her name unsearchable. While Grok reportedly refuses to create fully nude images, reports suggest it can still generate provocative content featuring celebrities like Swift, Kamala Harris, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez .
