IIT-BHU girl student forcibly kissed by three men on bike inside campus, students stage protest

On Thursday, students from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) organized a protest.
They asserted that external individuals were implicated in the incident and called for a restriction on outsiders entering the campus.
Based on a complaint filed by the woman, the incident occurred when she was out with a friend on Wednesday night near the Karman Baba temple.
Three men arrived on a motorcycle and allegedly forcibly secluded her from her friend, taking her to a secluded area and silencing her.
According to the complaint, the accused individuals proceeded to undress the woman, recorded a video of her, and took photographs.
After approximately 15 minutes, they released her and obtained her phone number.
Following the woman’s complaint, an FIR (First Information Report) has been lodged at the Lanka police station.
The FIR has been registered under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to assault or criminal force with the intent to outrage the modesty of a woman, as well as under provisions of the IT (Information Technology) Act, as per the police statement.
Authorities are actively working to identify and locate the individuals responsible for the incident, as per their statement.
A large gathering of hundreds of students took place near IIT-BHU’s Rajputana Hostel, where they staged a protest in response to the incident.
