NEW DELHI: On Wednesday evening, authorities reported a fire in a coach of the New Delhi-Darbhanga Special Express near Etawah, Uttar Pradesh.
No casualties have been reported so far, they said.
Himanshu Upadhyay, chief public relations officer (CPRO) of North Central Railways, mentioned that the station master at Sarai Bhopat junction, near Etawah, observed smoke emanating from coach number S1 of the New Delhi-Darbhanga Special Express.
He stated, “The train was promptly halted, and all passengers were evacuated. Currently, everyone is safe, and there are no reported casualties.”
As per sources, the impacted coach has been disconnected from the train, and fire tenders have been deployed to address the situation.
