The Telangana Special Protection Force (SPF) celebrated the culmination of its nine-month training programme with the passing-out parade of 265 stipendiary cadet trainee constables (SCTCTs) at the SPF Training Academy in Ameenpur. This marks the third Dikshanth Parade since the academy’s establishment in 2006.

Minister for IT, Electronics and Communications, Industries and Commerce and Legislative Affairs D. Sridhar Babu presided over the function as chief guest. In his address, he lauded the cadets’ academic and professional achievements, emphasising importance of the uniform as a badge of trust, discipline, and responsibility. He highlighted the SPF’s role in safeguarding critical installations like Secretariat, High Court, Assembly, RBI, Nagarjuna Sagar Dam and government hospitals among others.

He reminded the cadets that they were now part of a strong and dedicated force, ready to serve with courage and integrity. He urged them to carry out their duties with dedication and to protect Telangana’s assets while contributing to the progress of the State.

The Minister reassured the cadets that the government was fully committed to supporting them and would ensure they had all the resources required to perform their duties effectively. He affirmed that their welfare remained a top priority, as the growth and safety of Telangana depended on their efforts.

The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including TGSPF director-general Anil Kumar and DIG/Principal of the training academy R. Madhava Rao. The event saw participation of over 1,500 attendees, including family members of the trainees.

Representing 27 districts of Telangana, including 19 cadets from Andhra Pradesh, the cohort includes 10 postgraduates and 191 graduates from fields such as M.Tech, M.Pharma, B.Tech, and B.Pharma. Among the recruits, 11 have prior experience in government or public sector while nine were previously police constables and 245 are freshers.

During the training, the cadets were equipped with skills to handle responsibilities at vital installations. They received instruction in the Indian Police Act, Public Security Act, and modern legislative updates such as the Bharath Nyaya Sanhita (2023). Other specialised training areas included cybercrime, forensics, VIP security and stress management. Outdoor training covered arms handling, physical fitness, Krav Maga, Karate, and fieldcraft techniques. Trainees learned to operate sophisticated weapons like SLR and INSAS rifles.

    S. Sanjay (Best All-Rounder), Ch. Shiva Kumar (Best Firer), M. Shiva (Best Outdoor Performance) and Mohd. Mujtaba (Best Indoor Performance) were named as top performers of the batch.

Established in 1991 under Act 25 by the then united Andhra Pradesh government, the Telangana SPF was modelled after the Central Industrial Security Force to secure vital installations and foster industrial growth in the state. Currently, SPF provides security services to eight State and Central government establishments which include State Assembly, High Court, Secretariat, Reserve Bank of India and RPO Offices.
